Locke, completely unrelated to any Classical Liberalism theorists, is a New York producer who has emerged from the web with the mysterious, “We Are The Prey”. Along with this haunting electronic track, not much has been disclosed by the artist, except the track’s intriguing feline-filled artwork and cryptic messages posted over Locke’s Tumblr.
“We Are The Prey” is a sinister piece in which the synths and rhythm section contort and cavort nervously, while a female voice sensuously moves about the track with the sinuosity of a snake. The producer said the track had to channel Sade’s vulnerability and Suicide’s tension, creating an unavoidably thick air of paranoia throughout the track. “I am hunger, feed me truth” says the female voice, before the final build up and electric climax.
This first, haunting introduction to Locke’s mind is hopefully the gateway to a world of even more pink tigers and aqua marine blue tones, so make sure to follow this producer on soundcloud.
