Llovers celebrate youthful innocence on sparkling new track "A Second With You"
Diving in with twinkling disco ball synths, "A Second With You" is a beautifully decorative ode to the seemingly boundless possibilities of youth.
With their newest effort, Llovers retain the delicacy shown in previous releases such as "Just Lust" but lighten it up with layer upon layer of euphoria. A heavier drum part that helps to power the whole thing forwards, making it a bright-eyed anthem that shimmers most when the uplifting chorus pounds in.
In many ways, it's the perfect indie earworm, as every little glistening pop hook works its individual way into the subconscious. Subtle harmonies and the powerful breakdown at the middle eight only adds to the song's elegant tapestry. It encourages the listener to escape to a world where anything in possible, even though you might learn later on that this isn't really the case in reality.
"The track is about my own disproportionate response to normal things in everyday life. I think most people my age romanticise so many things," explains co-frontman Jack Brooks of the creative process surrounding the track's initial aim. "The intention of the track was to celebrate the positively naïve nature of youth, while also poking fun the reality of the outcome, which is actually something that’s just a bit oddly obsessive."
