Litany return with “Woman”, a fantastically hypnotic new outing
Litany first grabbed our attention back in July 2014 with “Slopes”; the tracks cascading, outer-space production played host for a haunting vocal performance that weaves gracefully above, aligning the newcomers with the likes of Lapsley and R I T U A L.
This initial cut was no fluke, as “Look” followed and proved emphatically that the Harrogate duo were full of style and substance.
Now the young pair - Jake Nicolaides (production) and Beth Cornell (vocals) - are back and have teamed-up with fellow-newcomer Appleby to create their most infectious and hypnotic cut to date: typically intuitive production work lays the foundation for Cornell’s effortless whisper to lead the way atop a wash of synth sounds and ear-twitching samples.
Appleby’s affected vocal input brings a beefy R&B element to the fantastically moreish track as “Woman” serves as the third piece of proof that Litany have what it takes to really go places.
