Swedish hypno-pop upstart Zhala has unveiled a brand new ditty called "Aerobic Lambada" on sverigesradio.se, and it's a belter.
A 'Lambada', for those who don't already know, is a Brazilian dance characterised by intimate, erotic movements performed with a partner; it's traditionally a couple's dance, and urban legend has it that performing the dance will cause pregnancy.
Zhala's version is built on cascading '80s dance beats, a bass throb reminiscent of Bloc Party's "Flux" and a vortex of sampled vox; it's sticky, dancefloor pop with lofty ambitions.
Zhala is signed to Robyn's Konnichiqa Records.
