Hailing from the burgeoning punk scene in Aarhus, DIYers Yung comprise four sprightly lads with a passion for gristly gruffness á la Jay Reatard or The Replacements: Mikkel Holm Silkjær (vocals and guitars), Frederik Nybo Veile (drums), Tobias Guldborg Tarp (bass) and Emil Zethsen (guitars).
They've been steadily building a healthy amount of buzz in their native lands, and with the release of "Nobody Cares" here across the North Sea, it's looking like they'll find fans further afield too.
The track is bristling with serrated axe licks and frothy distortion; it's got plenty of melody though, with Silkjær's 80-a-day growl stuffed with pep. It's all a bit dishevelled, but wonderfully endearing - think Hinds (Deers) on a really intense sugar high.
The band's debut EP Alter will be released 2 March via Tough Love.
