Listen: YADi – The Blow (Rudi Zygadlo Remix) [Best Fit Premiere]
London singer YADi released her first official single ‘The Blow’ back in February and now this Rudi Zygadlo remix gives us a timely reminder of two things…
The first, with its Caribbean tinged opening, is to helpfully remind us that winter will one day be gone and replaced by icy rum punch, warm streets and the Notting Hill Carnival. The second is to highlight the fact that female fronted electronic pop music is at a peak.
The soaring hooks of the original remain intact, although this sounds heavier and darker. The amplified use of the gun cocking sample particularly noticeable.
YADi will play a headline show at London’s Birthdays on April 9. Entry is free, more details can be found here.
