DFA’s YACHT have taken on ‘s 1969 track ‘Le Goudron’ for their latest single. The original is a pitch-bent parlour song; a rambling eulogy recorded with the Chicago Art Ensemble with the failures of May ’68 still ringing in French ears. YACHT have recast the track as distorted, four-on-the-floor synth-pop “for a neon-soaked dancefloor, our favourite autonomous zone.” Download the single below. Brigitte Fontaine
