Oxford outfit Wild Swim have announced their new single, ‘Another Night’ which is set for release on 6 May via Believe Recordings.
The band formed at the tender age of 13, sticking together as they embarked on their undergraduate studies, or in frontman Richard Sansom’s case, a Savile Row tailoring apprenticeship. Their debut EP, Echo dropped in autumn last year and while its taut art-rock hooks and complex melodies impressed; we’re happy to say that ‘Another Night’ opens up a new chapter in the precocious teens’ tale.
Built on foundations of densely coiled guitar notes and nebulous synth swirls, ’Another Night’ instantly feels more direct, more complete, than anything on Echo. Accelerating briskly, Sansom’s inimitable cooing is stretched to near breaking point as he wrestles against a torrent of muscular percussion and undulating bass in the ecstatic climax. An expansive and welcome progression into hometown contemporaries Foals‘ territory.
