Listen: The White Lamp – Make It Good
In the vein of heros, LCD Soundsystem and pretty much any act associated with DFA Records, particularly the jazzier side of house beats, a la Jacques Renault, DJ and producer duo The White Lamp are back with their sparkling new single, ‘Make It Good’.
Fluttering drums set the tone for a flurry of bubbling synthesizers, percussion and jangly tambourines all with this shiny disco ball feel. The dancefloor lights above flash as you groove along with the beat and realize your hands are no longer by your sides, but high above your head waving in the air to a funky jam that just won’t quit.
With headlining shows at XOYO, previous releases for esteemed label, Future Boogie, and fans like Giles Peterson, it’s clear there are lots more thumping, dance-ready disco beats to come The White Lamp.
White Lamp’s ‘Make It Good’ single, which includes remixes by Berliner Phon.o, Galactic Disco Mix, and Hannes Fischer is out digitally this week, but be sure to grab one of the limited run 12” from Sonar Kollektiv.
