Listen: Whilk & Misky - “Burn With Me”
Nima and Charlie - aka Whilk & Misky - have been quietly plying their trade for the past two years, building on support from the likes of Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank to find their feet as an intricate blues, gentle techno-inspired duo.
The London pair play on their respective love for soul and electronica to create a stand-alone recipe of funk-filled outings, epitomised by this brilliant latest offering. “Burn With Me” ignites out of glitching, sampled guitar and vocal sections into a trailblazing blues ballad. Husky and brooding, we’re lured into the track thanks to Charlie’s growling melody and heady sliding riff work.
Bringing to mind the likes of Chet Faker and early Jamie N Commons, they’re an act that are moving from strength to strength with this gritty, intelligent new cut; get ready to burn with Whilk & Misky.
