Listen: Twin Graves – “Brother” [Premiere]
Post-punk duo Twin Graves unveil the pulsating, “Brothers”, premiering today on Best Fit.
The lead single from the band’s forthcoming EP, Walk in Circles, is all very Cure-esque for the first 20 seconds. Some distinctly post-new wave (new new wave?) vocals creep in – the talky melodicism of singer/guitarist Jeremy Aris Polychronopoulos, backed by the airy flourishes of Zarah Lawless (vocals/synth) – breathing fresh life into a tried and true, though remarkably never boring, formula.
“Brothers” is pristine movie-makeout-scene soundtrack material. It shouldn’t deter headier listeners since there’s plenty here to viscerally dissect and emotionally reinvent.
Simply put, Twin Graves have successfully delivered a debut with multi-faceted demographic potential. That alone deserves a proverbial thumps up.
