Listen: Tropics – Don't You Know
Packed with soul and seduction, Tropics unveil ‘Don’t You Know’, from the forthcoming Home & Consonance, EP due 22nd April via Five Easy Pieces.
Chris Ward has found complete comfort in this more laid-back hue, following on from the bouncing funk of last year’s ‘Invitation’, and this latest track exemplifies how effective simple, watery progressions can be, washing over you underneath an inkling of genuine melody, that we’ve perhaps become accustomed to. It is a welcome addition and bolsters the lounge sound, adding underlying subtext of sadness before gently hopeful female vocals dominate proceedings.
Take 5 minutes to sink deep into another entirely satisfying number from this impressive British producer.
