Listen: TRAAMS – Jack [Best Fit Premiere]
With releases from Mazes and Paws under their belt, it’s safe to say that the guys at FatCat Records know a thing or two about impossibly melodic garage-rock. The Brighton label have exercised their knack for sniffing out earwormy riff peddlers way ahead of the chasing pack once again with the signing of Chichester trio, TRAAMS.
Formed of spongy basslines, ragged guitar curls and snappy snares which crackle like broken clock hands, ‘Jack’ is precisely the kind of noisy kraut-tinged rattler you might suck from the brain of producer and Hookworms frontman, MJ. Drawn from the Ladders EP, ‘Jack’s warped mid-section melting into Stu Hopkins’ rugged howling places TRAAMS in the same deliciously DIY bracket as Parquet Courts and FIDLAR.
Pre-order a copy of the Ladders EP – on cassette or digital download – ahead of its release on 17 June here.
