Following the airing of ‘I’m Not Dancing’, taken from the EP of the same name, Tirzah’s new teaser ‘Slow Jam’ shows a softer side to the young artist.
The song layers gentle, soporific synths over industrial, machine-like beats, a surprising yet successful combination, reflected by Tirzah’s partnering with the famously unorthodox producer Micachu. Indeed, the somewhat indecipherable sounds peppered throughout ‘Slow Jam’ are characteristically Micachuan. And yet, as Tirzah’s confident and sultry voice demands ‘look me in the eyes’, it’s clear that the limelight is on her, and from the buzz surrounding her new EP, we’re betting it’ll stay that way.
I’m Not Dancing is released today via Greco-Roman.
