Listen: The Preatures – Manic Baby
Who best replicates the swaggering, finely-polished rock of Fleetwood Mac whilst managing to look like perfectly poised cuttings from an American Apparel catalogue, Haim or Sydney’s The Preatures?
Well, we’re all aware of the Haim sisters’ talents by now, but it’s the Aussies, and their slight air of the unknown, who impressed most with recent EP teaser ‘Is This How You Feel’ and now ‘Manic Baby’. Plundering Fleetwood’s tumbling guitar riffs and rapier sharp snare thwacks – Isabella’s silky smooth caw is a dead ringer for Stevie Nicks’ too – The Preatures can further assert their claim to 2013’s opulent rock ‘n’ roll crown.
Is This How You Feel is out on 9 August via Universal Australia.
