Hot on the successful heels of last year’s “Is This How You Feel?” Sydney’s The Preatures storm back with arena-ready new single, “Better Than It Ever Could Be.”
With crisp guitar licks and a rhythm section that could have been plucked from 70s rock radio to back her, singer Isabella Manfredi is at her best here. The lyrics that describe a hazy longing “in the corners of mind” make for a nice juxtaposition with Manfredi’s voice, which sounds remarkably bright throughout the sing-along chorus.
The Preatures kick off a brief European tour on 17 February at Monto Water Rats, London. “Better Than It Ever Could Be” will be released with “Manic Baby” on 23 March.
