Listen: Telegram – “Rule Number One”
Anglo-welsh, psychedelic punks Telegram have released new track “Rule Number One”, an explosion of punk grooves and psychedelic drone that races all the way to rock ‘n’ roll oblivion.
Being the third available release from these hairy rockers on their own label Gram Gram, “Rule Number One” combines distortedly, fuzzy power chords, brash bass-lines and a vicious ferocity on the drums from Jordan Cook, to carve out its own niche in the psychedelic, garage rock resurgence of recent times. Matt Saunders (guitar) and Oli Paget Moon (bass) also come together to provide a bratty, adolescent croon that evokes images of an unlikely Syd Barrett – Joey Ramone hybrid.
Currently working in the studio on material for their debut album, Telegram’s “Rule Number One”, is presumably just always make a great, big rock ‘n’ roll racket.
Telegram have just been announced on the bill of Festival Internacional de Benicassim, which takes place from 17 – 20 July.
