TEETH are pretty obnoxious aren’t they? Like that little annoying blonde one from Made In Chelsea that – if you were a violent person – you’d want to pummel to a bloody demise. But luckily, none of us are that violent right? Right.

No, London’s fave cyber-noise-punks (to be fair, there aren’t too many around) are the good kind of obnoxious, like when a drunken walk from the pub turns into a bro-in-arms singalong of Pavement’s ‘Cut Your Hair’.

New single ‘U R 1′ (streaming a couple of scrolls down) is probably their most composed output to date, and the band are all the better for it. It’s quite frankly an outright electro-pop belter.

But those are just my words, and what do I know? Only useless things like FA Cup winners and the entire transcript of every conversation I’ve had ever. So here’s a little snippet from the band themselves:

‘U R 1 is about being raised from birth by computers and the internet, being taught everything we know by something other than a biological parent. It’s a love song to the digital nannies- who raised us up into who we are and kind of playing with the idea that Artificial Intelligence might be capable of emotional attachment’.

And the fun doesn’t stop there, oh no sirry. The track has also had a bit of a mess around by Brooklyn-based knob-twiddlers Friendly Ghost.

Now for boring stuff: TEETH shall be supporting the almighty Tom Vek at his Shepherd’s Bush Empire show on 16 November, before embarking on their first trip across the pond from 29 November onward, with dates in Chicago, Brooklyn and San Diego already booked. So make sure you catch them somewhere along their trail, American types!
