Just over eleven months to the day since the gorgeous opiate grooves of ‘Endless Summer’ dominated a modest chunk of the internet hype machine, along comes the long awaited follow up single from Still Corners. Their first release for independent behemoth Sub Pop, ‘Cuckoo’ is a subtle beast indeed: eery and claustrophic in tone, the musical equivalent of an Alfred Hitchcock movie perhaps – with Tessa Murray cast as the leading lady, cooing softly “we never meant obsession, we should have had confessions / it’s all very cuckoo, me and you”.
Cuckoo is released on July 4 with the 7″ available to pre-order via Rough Trade now. The debut full length Creatures Of An Hour will be released October 10.
