Listen: SOHN – The Wheel (REID Remix)
One of the most exciting acts at SXSW this year, was the somewhat mysterious singer and producer, simply known as SOHN, his songs resonating even more before a live audience. Emerging Irish producer, REID, who made waves in 2012 with his single, ‘Miami’, today lends his talents to SOHN’s auto-tuned folky heartache, turning ‘The Wheel’ into a carefree, rushing daydream through the clouds.
Adding airy reverb and a thumping beat to SOHN’s luscious words, and working in the same vein as another Irish producer turning heads, MMOTHS, REID is able to resurrect light from the darkest of corners with the delicate drop of xylophone and percussion effects at the just the right instance. A playful take on one of 2012’s most beloved, chill-inducing singles you just have to hear.
