We’re not suggesting all bailiffs are the same, but London’s Sivu could hardly be further from the traditional stereotype of a balding, burly bouncer braying on the front door.
The Bodies EP was his breakthrough, and gateway to a support tour with rising stars London Grammar, but it’s on new track ‘Over & Over’ where Sivu earns his spurs. Picked guitar notes, distantly thrumming bass drum and shuffling bells come together, enshrining his fragile though hearty croon in a sweet, comforting cast; it’s hard to believe that someone who crafts such divinely introspective indie-pop could ever have worked in the harsh world of debt recovery.
