Listen: Sivu – Better Man Than He (Alt-J Remix) [Best Fit Premiere]
We join Sivu in the middle of what could possibly be another of music’s rags to riches stories. Currently working in a call centre in South West London, the 24 year old is looking for an escape route away from that drudgery by creating gentle and heartfelt acoustic songs that are both comforting and emotionally arresting.
Having Charlie Andrew, producer of Alt-J’s Mercury Prize winning An Awesome Wave, on board as a collaborator certainly helps on that journey. As does the unique video for debut single ‘Better Man Than He’, which was filmed with an MRI scanner.
Thom from Alt-J has also remixed that track, taking it to a dimension far removed from the original. The vocals pitched perfectly at a high, pure, and calming in tone are accentuated by a slow and swooning piano led beat and soft murmurs. Listen below.
