Listen: Shy Nature – Washout
London based Shy Nature are setting the bar for what’s to come from their upcoming EP with their stageworthy third track to date, ‘Washout’.
As the festival season draws to a close, you’ve got more holes in your wallet, your memory and your clothes than you did three months ago, you’ve probably also got a multitude of songs that trigger waves of festival sentimentality quicker than you can say ‘Arctic Monkeys at Glastonbury’, Shy Nature’s ‘Washout’ might one day nestle alongside those nostalgic anthems.
Kicking off with a thrashing guitar line, a heavy, punching drum beat, and opening vocals reminiscent of Peace’s Harrison Koisser, the sharp shift in tempo which follows is tight-as-hell, adding the final ingredient in this recipe for indie-rock immensity.
Their self-titled debut EP is out 16 September.
