You might know Toby Hayes, the ex-Meet Me In St Louis man who now records as Shoes And Socks Off, as an acoustic artist. His first couple of solo records consisted of pared back, fragile bedroom recordings, and while Robin Hood Waiter Champion Have-Not introduced a band, there have been few indications that his new material would sound quite like ‘Tork Sport’. Gone is the charmingly scratchy guitar, and in its place are thick, warm bass and fluttering Eraser-esque electronics.
‘Tork Sport’ is taken from the forthcoming album Miles Of Mad Water, out 14 May on Big Scary Monsters.
