Shamir's ascent has been quite majestic thus far, with some standout pop singles and a nod from the BBC Sound Of 2015 list.
Now, for Rookie's 'Theme Song' series - a series that's featured Speedy Ortiz and Perfect Pussy in recent times - he's covered Nashville star Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me".
The Las Vegas experimental-pop artist eschews his usual bombast for something slightly more delicate and down-to-earth. Using only the deft strum of acoustic guitar, and his own inimitable vocal timbres, Shamir crafts something that relies more on emotion than sonic hocus pocus.
