Listen: Sébastien Tellier - "Allers Vers Le Soleil" (Tom Furse Extrapolation) [Premiere]
With his current album L’Aventura, Sébastien Tellier has charmed its listeners into a world inspired by Brazilian tones, which, as he describes, transform Tellier’s own childhood, filling it with exotic sounds and bucolic visions. Tellier’s single “Allers Vers Le Soleil”, throws the listener head first into this South American Arcadia, composed of tip-toeing rhythms and lightly-played synths.
Tom Furse of The Horrors picked up this slice of tropical Eden and put his own twist on it, which premieres here on Best Fit. In his own extrapolation, Furse dissects each moment of the original composition, removing all dreaminess and haziness and grounding it into a pulsing, keyboard-galore synth pop track. The reverb that cottoned the original has completely disappeared, replaced by a crisp, high-def production, in which the original’s funky riff appears more resounding, and glittering cascading synths adorn this electronic dream of a track.
