A tenderly haunted vocal cuts through the pining string arrangement on Stockholm band, Sailor & I’s debut Black Butter release, ‘Tough Love’.
“Sometimes I start a fight / just to see if you care” sighs the despairing frontman in time to heartbeat tom-tom pounds and that’s not the only emotionally bruised and battered secret he needs to get off his chest; ‘Tough Love’ positively overflows with them. In short, promises have been broken and the pieces aren’t slotting back together like they used to.
The perfect compliment to the dark clouds in the sky and those hovering over fissured relationships.
Out on 7 July via Black Butter Records.
