The sweetest of lullabies serenade a woozy, sexed-up dance anthem into subdued submission on Rina Sawayama’s appropriately titled ‘Sleeping In Waking’.
The debut single from the London based songstress bounce between shimmering cascades of beats and effects, while steamy sullen words linger just long enough to wrap their breathy lyrics around bubbling basslines, shiny trumpet notes and softly murmuring synths. Go ahead, lose yourself in this one, we won’t tell.
Rina Sawayama’s 7″ ’Sleeping In Waking’ is out 15th April on Make Mine Records.
