Clocking in at almost seven minutes long and offering little in the way of discernible hooks, ‘Be Nobody’ is unlikely to catapult Irish producer Replete into the mainstream conscious.
However, the latest track drawn from Cork School of Music student Peter Lawlor’s new EP is positively guaranteed to suck you into his unique world of discordant electronica via creeping, breathy vocal loops, slushy synth atmospherics, reverberating bass and hollow beats. It’s in this impenetrable wall of low-pressure house tinctured sound that Replete will garner a suitably fervent following. We’re ready to pledge our name to the cause.
‘Be Nobody’ will feature on Replete’s forthcoming EP, the whole of which will stream online this week.
