Listen: Racing Glaciers – “New Country” (Laurel Remix) [Premiere]
Covering Racing Glaciers’ latest effort “New Country” in dark, brooding mystery, alt-pop newcomer Laurel showcases her talent for reworking alongside a knack for songwriting in her own right.
Barely recognisable sat next to the aforementioned cut, the South Coast-based artist takes inspiration from the likes of serial remixers Cyril Hahn and Ryan Hemsworth to give the song a whole new feel: slowed vocal lines sit back-to-back with their gently soaring counterparts, while its hypnotic piano line and heart-beating rhythm carry the late-night production along.
The refrain may cry of “Shaking in the morning sun”, but this new remix begs to soundtrack these dark January evenings. Sit back, and stream the original and this Best Fit premiere below.
