Puppy, a grunge-y trio based in London, have lifted the lid on their debut gambit "Forever", an '80s-tinged piece of rock that recalls King Tuff.

They're labelled as 'heavy metal' on socials, but that's a bit of a misdirect; they do boast big guitars, lots of noise, and rampaging drums, however.

"Forever" is the band's first track to set foot onto the world wide web. It's been made using a blend of analogue and digital equipment by the band themselves, and is gloriously rough-around-the-edges - they describe it as "the sound of growing up listening to Metallica and Pavement in equal measure".

In their goal to avoid hallmarks of the rock subgenres, the band combine things like Alex G vox and melodic Fang Island riffery; it's a modern power ballad to retrospectively soundtrack films like Say Anything. Think Summer Camp at their loudest collaborating with Andrew W.K. at his saddest.
