Listen: Polterghost – “Brain Freeze” [Premiere]
It’s not often you encounter a track that so perfectly balances raw rock’n’roll with an infectious pop chorus. London outfit Polterghost are making music that truly feels like a dream.
Bursting into life with a blissful energy, it’s hard not to be fully floored by what you’re hearing. Crafted from layers of scuzzed up guitars and deliciously rough vocals, “Brain Freeze” is a track that has it all. Before the thundering refrains and resounding drum riffs have time to explode into the songs deliriously catchy chorus, you’ll already find yourself intoxicated.
With this release, Polterghost are making it all too easy for you to fall in love. Hazy and squalling in equal measure, it won’t be long before you’re questioning why music hasn’t sounded this good before.
‘Brain Freeze’ is the first song to feature from Polterghost’s upcoming debut album, the group born from the ashes of former Best Fit Recordings act Fanzine. You can download the track for free via Soundcloud.
