Listen: Niki and the Dove – Live in Session for Radio 1
One of the (many) truly fascinating things about the Niki and the Dove live experience is how they seem to consistently experiment with their own sound. By adding tiny nuances, effects and subtle changes to the sonic bed of any particular song, they consistently manage to dazzle the listener – no track ever sounding the same twice over. Aside from the obvious talent on display it comes down to the amount fun Malin and Gustaf seem to have when performing their glorious, twisted brand of euro-pop. Each song being performed with the exact same amount of gusto and enthusiasm, whether it be for the first or thousandth time.
Here, blistering performances of ‘DJ, Ease My Mind’, ‘Mother Protect’ and ‘The Drummer’ nestle beside a charming conversation with Radio 1′s Huw Stephens – revealing their cheeky and playful personalities to full effect.
