Listen: Naomi Pilgrim – “Rainmakers”
We know it’s only February but we’re pretty sure Naomi Pilgrim is already ahead in the “2014 RnB with swagger” stakes.
Having fallen in love with her assured early offering “No Gun” last year, (largely because of lines like “I found my soul mate but we’re screwing just for fun”) the Swedish/Barbadian singer today revealed her entire EP, including new track “Rainmakers.”
A slight change of pace for the former Lykke Li backing singer, “Rainmakers” is still centred around Pilgrim’s silky, soulful vocals but Fredrik Okazaki’s flawless production feels lighter somehow – his almost trademark crunching baselines now emerging underneath clattering percussion in a more subdued state, resulting in her most overtly pop song to date.
Naomi Pilgrim’s self-titled EP, including previously revealed tracks “Money” and “No Gun” is available to stream in full now.
