Listen: Mont Oliver - "White Sheets"
We were massive fans of the "falsetto-ladled R&B" that Mont Oliver showcased on recent cut "19". The trio of Danish trip-hoppers swanned in with bold intentions, that's for sure.
Now we can listen to the follow-up and... is it possible to top "19"? It might well be. It's a double-slug of raw hip-pop guts and trappy 8-bit synthwork; this is no-holds-barred noise, infecting every fibre of your being with the same psycho-passion as Glass Animals. Expect pitch-shifted hooks - "I won't blame you unless it's true/ you wash your white sheets when I'm gone," they blurt in staccato harmony - and a crispy crunch of marching band glory. Horns, snares and battlecry vocals make this an anthem of intent.
