Copenhagen-residing threesome Mont Oliver - Jakob Hammershøj, Niels Christian Sommer and Mads Bernt Pedersen - have just opened the curtains on their debut track, "19", taken from their first EP of the same name.
That EP won't be out until 17 November, though when it does arrive it'll be available for free download, but in the meantime you should whet your whistle with this pristine trip-pop ditty.
"19" skitters with old-school hip-hop beats, tripped-out synths and massive bassy keys, but when the chorus hits, the ripcord is yanked and it's grandiose falsetto-ladled R&B. The vocals are Samuel T. Herring-esque and mirrored by pitch-shifted harmonies; it's a wonderfully hallucinogenic welcome into the world of Mont Oliver.
Listen below.
