Listen: Mitzi – Truly Alive [Best Fit Premiere]
DFA Records’s long lost brother from down under, Future Classic is showing no signs of slowing down this year having already released fantastic albums for Flume and Panama, today, we have the pleasure of introducing the latest Future Classic release, this time, from Brisbane’s Mitzi.
Touching on LCD Soundsystem vibes and dripping in pop virtuosity, Mitzi has harnessed this analogue synth sound and infused it with rattling disco clanks, booty-shaking beats and jangly, percussion pops. A sort of disco-noir left out in the rain to turn a lovely, tinged rust color. Garage stained dance beats rattling around in your dad’s slightly psychedelic-themed basement, scattered with tokens of a past life, now being taken out of their storage boxes and wiped clean with a shiny, disco ball rag. Like the song title suggests, Mitzi’s new single makes you feel just that.
We’re told Mitzi will be dropping their debut record c/o Future Classic in early 2013.
