Listen: Maribou State – Tongue EP Remixes [Best Fit Exclusive]
Having recently revealed ‘Larks Rise’, the second cut from their Tongue EP, Hertfordshire natives Chris Davids and Liam Ivory – aka Maribou State – have given us an exclusive peak at not one but three remixes.
The first track to get a rework, the third track in our below set, is the EP’s title track ‘Tongue (feat. Holly Walker)’ which sees James Welsh transform the originals slow-burning, sultry beats into a faster, adrenaline rush of glitchy synths and slinky late-night dance floor flutters.
Next up, it’s Southhampton new comer Drew Hill’s turn to take on the title track, offering a more pulsating, summery, tropical infusion.
Closing up the electronic affair is the James Welsh Knackered 808 Remix, which, as one would expect, strips back the warmth and understated drama of the original and replaces it with cold hard techno sonics and a cleaner focus.
