Listen: Magical Mistakes – Snow Shoes

Magical Mistakes is the project of Erik Luebs, an American national who upped sticks from Southern California to Osaka on a voyage of cultural exploration and self-discovery a little way back.

This latest track from the percussionist-by-trade, entitled ‘Snow Shoes’ draws on minimalist techniques to create wonderfully spacious quasi-electronica. A patchwork of hewn together acoustics, fluid percussive ticks and yearning synth strings are caught on a warm summer breeze; blowing across this wistful two and a half minute treat all too soon.

Magical Mistakes doesn’t need heavy drops or sultry hooks, his tenderly pastoral style of production is infatuating enough as it is.
