We’re huge fans of Providence, Rhode Island indie rock outfit Magic Man at Best Fit; their debut LP Real Life Colour – released when the band operated as a duo – holds a special place in our record collection, nestled neatly between Passion Pit and M83.
The newly beefed up five-piece unleashed their comeback single ‘Paris’ in February and they’re at it again with another vitalising cut of hair-raising synth-driven glee entitled ‘Texas’. Explosive electronic pulses streak across a canvas of elastic bass notes and punchy drum patterns; a rhythm section so taut it practically catapults Alex Caplow’s decadent vocals into the stratosphere. More evidence of the hugely exhilarating refinements Magic Man have made during their absence.
