London duo Lung Dart make their debut with “B. OK”, a tipsy slice of dream pop experimentation that will suck you down the rabbit hole.
Pairing sugar-sweet (albeit heavily modulated) melodies with “what the fuck was that” sounds—likely the result of integrating atmospheric phone recordings made in London—“B. OK” sounds like a strange interpretation of a Panda Bear/Geologist side project that never existed. There’s a basic pop-rock chord progression to be found under all the ethereal effects and twisted saxophone improvisations, but don’t be fooled; nothing is quite as it seems. To paraphrase one of my favorite literary felines, everything is mad here.
