“I’m the baddest car in the parking lot/hottest gun that the preacher shot” proclaims rising vocalist Lolo over jagged strutting guitars and bustling snares on new single ‘Weapon For Saturday’.
The Brooklynite’s unashamedly show-offish lyrics capture centre stage but that’s no bad thing when she’s lashing that tongue with such sassy, vitriolic verve. ‘Weapon For Saturday’ cuts a black ‘n white contrast with previous releases under her own name – Lauren Pritchard – but we’d take this wildchild pop side over another butter-wouldn’t-melt singer-songwriter any day.
