Listen: Leo Leoson – The Contemporary Dancer
A warm welcome to the latest addition to the consistently impressive Ten; the Swedish company that have brought to light the likes of Icona Pop, Niki and the Dove and Elliphant have just snapped up one Leo Leoson.
Based on the aforementioned acts and the added bonus that mysterious newcomers Kate Boy are on production duties for the forthcoming debut EP, you’d be forgiven for assuming Leoson as another artist that Ten are directing straight towards the dancefloor. Not so. Debut single ‘The Contemporary Dancer’ is actually a sprightly dose of folktronica that showcases both Leoson’s impressive vocal range and knack for a sweet hook. The middle ground somewhere between Kings Of Convenience and their disco biscuit bastard offspring Whitest Boy Alive.
Further news on the whats and whens of the debut EP as we get it. For now, stream ‘The Contemporary Dancer’ below and head over to Leo’s Facebook and SoundCloud for a couple of other tasters of what’s to follow over the coming months.
