Listen: Laura Welsh – Cold Front

Following on from the Dev Hynes produced ‘Unravel’, the UK’s latest soul hopeful Laura Welsh delivers another cooing piece of pure pop bliss.
This time Welsh makes use of the production skills of Rhye’s Robin Hannibal, who brings typical pizzicato string and extra seduction to her already sultry, late-night vocal. The Jessie Ware influence is certainly audible, but takes nothing away from the tracks gentle, pulsating catchiness. And really, who better to emulate?
