Listen: Korallreven – Try Anything Once (ft. Cornelius)
It feels like an eternity ago since Stockholm duo Korallreven blessed us with their debut. A flawless execution in expansive pop music, An Album By Korallreven reached Number 2 in Best Fit’s ‘Albums of 2011′ poll.
The pair – Marcus Joons and Daniel Tjäder (formerly of The Radio Dept.) – return today with ‘Try Anything Once’. A sprightly return, the track features vocalist Marcus Joons front and centre in the mix, displaying a new found confidence that was often weighted with a wistful reverb.
With Joons’ shyness depreciated, Tjäder provides a magical sounding backing that’s filled with wonderment and hopefulness. Flanked by a guest turn from Cornelius and a Swedish gospel choir, ‘Try Anything Once’ is a welcome, and indeed, triumphant return from one of Sweden’s most prominent new bands.
Released October 2 via Rallye, the single comes backed by a remix from UK bass singer/producer Cooly G.
