As we wait patiently for the Marcus Soderlund directed video of recent Korallreven single ‘As Young As Yesterday’ to drop, along comes this outstanding re-rub of said track… aptly renamed ‘The Final Fantasy’. To lift a lyric from last year’s single ‘The Truest Faith’, this reimagining is truly “the sound of endorphins”: as the track builds to a crescendo towards the halfway mark, Marcus Joon’s vocal floats against the backdrop of a rousing piano line – seemingly played by a gaggle of angels. It’s pretty much utopia in aural form. Stunning.
