With the follow up to his debut EP Bones due out on 26 August via National Anthem, 25-year-old Brixton based singer-songwriter Josh Record has revealed Eagles for Hands remix of it’s title track.
In its original form ‘The War’ is a beautiful, quietly rumbling acoustic number that drifts along on lilting falsetto vocal melodies, looping strings and sparse, deep bass drum thuds.
In the hands of Laurie James Ross – aka Eagles for Hands – the empty spaces are replaced with crackling synths and twisted glitches while his smooth vocals are warped and wrapped around insistent beats perfect for that late night, post-disco haze.
