LA based, Seattle born, 21-year-old Warner/Chappell signing Jaymes Young debut track ‘Dark Star’ is a warbling, pulsating beast of a track that reminds us of Polica’s twisting sultry employment of synths but pushes the bass into much heavier terrain. As anthemic as it is understated, Young’s vocals switch from the ethereal and wispy to the deep and soulful in seconds, the dubstep inspired beats providing the cue for pace changes.
