Listen: Island Fox - “Tectonic x Benjamin Abbott” [Premiere]
For over a year a mysterious project has been operating under the name Island Fox, garnering increasing support thanks to the outfits intricate production, married with a stunning, soaring vocal that nods gently to London Grammar’s Hannah Reid.
Working alongside German producer Mazde, following a cut with the equally enigmatic Wunder Wulf, this summer’s “Carbon Flux” really projected Island Fox out of the depths of the ‘blogosphere’ and towards established industry eyes.
Now, returning to write with an early collaborator Benjamin Abbott - the two released “Things I’ve Seen” last year - the young London-based artist has revealed not only herself but another beautifully glitchy new number to continue her impressive collection of tracks: once again it is her voice that really stands out, as she calls out above typically twitching production that draws on the likes of the pace-setting FKA twigs and SOHN.
Stream the brilliant "Tectonic" below and say another hello to Island Fox; 2015 has the potential to be seismic.
