Desert-dwelling US producer, HONEST introduces us to his take on dance music with his debut EP and lead single, ‘New You’.
They say perception is reality, and in many cases, the truth is whatever we want it to be. Such is the case with Arizona talent, HONEST. Who would thought a city covered with desert lined golf courses and shopping malls would be the perfect setting to inspire such global house sentiments? We honestly didn’t.
Found sound distortion is rinsed through tropical clad percussion, colourful rhythm sections and vocal octaves of every range, that have been scattered across thumping bass to form the three tracks that make up the young producer’s debut EP. Blips of electronic raindrops flutter down upon shiny, clean production, ensuring each sound melds together harmoniously to paint a worldly view that extends far beyond HONEST’s dusty domain.
